Katey Red--adopted!

Katey Red was found with her mom, Magnolia Shorty, and 5 siblings in the 8th Ward of New Orleans. All the puppies are extremely sweet and happy. They appear to have been abandoned, not born feral, as they are not afraid of people, although they can be a tiny bit shy at first. They are very loving and active. Katey is one of the more submissive of the puppies. She is currently about 7-8 weeks old and weighs about 10lbs. All the puppies had intestinal parasites and fleas when they came into rescue but have been treated for that. They are otherwise healthy.

Although it's very hard to guess how big a puppy will end up, we estimate that Freedia will be in the 40-50lbs range. Her mom appears to be a husky/shepherd mix and weighs about 45lbs. She is extremely sweet. Katey looks like she may have some hound in her as well.

All the puppies will be ready to go home in about 3-4 weeks when they have received additional vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered and chipped. We are taking applications on the puppies now!
